Taking Up Sensual Space Event Recap

We are so inspired and grateful to our community who showed up and showed out last weekend for Taking Up Sensual Space: An Evening of Seductive Possibilities!

We were thrilled to collaborate with sexuality doula Ev’Yan Whitney, who flew in for a rare LA appearance to lead her Sexting Myself workshop. During the workshop, Ev’Yan shared her story of learning to define sexuality on her own terms and how a self-sexting practice helps her find acceptance and safety in her body. Each workshop participant was given a few minutes alone in Ev’Yan’s Sensual Selfie Photo Booth installation, which was decorated with silky pastel linens, floral arrangements, and a mirror to capture the magic. An erotic playlist curated by Ev’Yan helped set the mood. Everyone was encouraged to get as naked or remain as clothed as they felt comfortable while in the room. After each person’s turn, they shared what the experience was like, being honest about barriers to sensual exploration while the group held space and shared tips on how to show up for yourself in the moment.

After Ev’Yan’s workshop, we continued to take up sensual space with an after party. The Sensual Selfie Photo Booth remained intact throughout the night, with guests eagerly forming a line to take turns in the room. Chakrubs Founder Vanessa Cuccia led a channeled crystal sound healing experience that awakened different emotions and intuitions in everyone who was present. Vanessa also took a turn womanning the Chakrubs pop-up shop and answering questions about different products.

Tarot readings were provided by Mademoiselle Danielle of Tarotviews in a dreamy, dimly lit den where fresh flowers hung from a netted ceiling and floor pillows provided a soft space for folks to mingle while they waited. Rachel Howe of Small Spells lent her magical hands for stick and poke tattoos, giving attendees a gift that would forever etch this evening into their memories. An erotic film screening expanded our perception of pornography and will hopefully encourage more of us to support indie adult filmmakers. BAE BAE tied everything together with steady grooves that kept us swaying on our feet.

Anandamide Psychedelicatessen satisfied our sweet tooth with savory vegan treats and chocolate desserts. Boochcraft and Electric Sky Wine sponsored the bar — check your photos to see if Electric Sky’s costumed brand ambassador snuck their way into any of your pictures. Poppy Lavender Florals provided gorgeous dried floral centerpieces that infused seduction into the space.
