September always feels like a beginning. It's the hush right before the overture. For many, it marks the start of a school year, a change in pace, a shift in light. But this year, it’s something more. There’s a current moving through the collective - an invitation to lock in. To devote. To direct.
The trend of creating a "self-curriculum" is everywhere right now, and for good reason. The idea is to treat your personal evolution with the same level of seriousness and structure as if you were enrolled in a graduate program for your own life. To ask: what do I want to know deeply? What would mastery look like? This guide is an offering to support you in creating your own.
At Chakrubs, this resonates deeply. Our work is centered around self-knowledge, pleasure, and transformation. Working with a Chakrub is not simply about physical sensation but about learning the language of your own body, energy, and erotic psyche. It’s about turning toward the parts of ourselves that are ready to evolve, soften, or speak. The self-curriculum is that same approach applied across every area of life.
So here is how I’ve set mine up, and how you can too.
Step One: Choose Your Core Areas of Study
Think of this like choosing your major(s). What are the four pillars of your becoming? What do you want to know inside and out by the end of this year? For me, these are:
1. Embodied Radiance
Wellness, beauty, body image, skincare, strength, and hormone health. This is where I study my physical self - how to care for it, live in it, and glow from within.
2. Creative Mythos
Music, writing, performance, visual language, persona. This is where I explore my inner artist and the way I shape stories through voice, word, and style.
3. Sacred Stewardship
Chakrubs, operations, finances, business energetics. This is about how I lead, how I protect the mission of my work, and how I create structures that hold power with clarity and intention.
4. Relational Sovereignty
Boundaries, intimacy, healing attachment, chosen family. This is where I refine how I relate - with others, with myself, with spirit.
Now, name your own four. They don’t have to look like mine. They might be:
-
Rewilding
-
Money and Magnetism
-
Deep Discipline
-
Living Mythically
Or:
-
Nutrition
-
Community Building
-
Legacy
-
Healing from Burnout
Step Two: Create Your Classes
Each pillar gets three "classes." These are subcategories you want to go deep into. For example, in Embodied Radiance, my three classes are:
-
Skin and Facial Structure
-
Strength and Body Composition
-
Nervous System and Hormones
In Creative Mythos:
-
Songwriting and Recording
-
Vocal Training and Performance
-
Visual Language and Persona
In Sacred Stewardship:
-
Chakrubs Strategy and Execution
-
Financial Flow
-
Team and Time Management
In Relational Sovereignty:
-
Secure Attachment and Emotional Regulation
-
Relationship Visioning and Boundaries
-
Sisterhood and Family Healing
Now write your own. Each class is like a semester's course. Something you’ll be studying and embodying through the rest of the year.
Step Three: Assign Required Reading, Midterms, and Finals
This is where it becomes real.
Each class should have:
-
A required reading, podcast, or documentary
-
A midterm: a measurable milestone by the end of October
-
A final: a conclusive project, ritual, experience, or moment by the end of December
Example: Creative Mythos > Songwriting and Recording
-
Required: You Are a Dream by Guillaume Wolf
-
Midterm: Finish writing 3 original songs
-
Final: Record and release 1 fully produced single
Step Four: Create the Space
Put it somewhere sacred. In a Notion board. In a printed binder. On your altar. Wherever it is, it should feel like a temple. A place you can come back to often.
Why This Matters
In a world that constantly pulls us in a hundred directions, this is your chance to turn inward and direct your energy with intention. This is how you protect your time, your body, your creative energy, your erotic wisdom. This is how you remember who you are.
And if you work with a Chakrub, this curriculum can be deeply enhanced by integrating your practice. Treat your solo time as sacred study. Let your body be a source of knowledge.
