Our researchers from GIA have informed us that Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz, and Amethyst are non-porous. Other crystals may be porous or have “closed porosity” meaning that pores lay on the surface of the stone but would be very difficult for bacteria to seep through to the center and can be washed away with soap and water.
